Bar Code Inventory System for Microsoft Access
Original System: The client had no inventory management system beyond the purchases and sales documented in their QuickBooks bookkeeping system.
System Requirements: A custom, bar code enabled inventory system to document and manage a large inventory of satellite equipment and instrumentation. The client owns and manages three large warehouses in two states as well as a significant inventory kept at various military installations.
Solution: A custom database created using Microsoft Access. The database was extremely easy to use. If a bar code that existed in the system was swiped, that piece of equipment would be displayed on-screen. If a new bar code was swiped, the user would be presented with an empty screen, allowing them to enter the new piece of equipment into the inventory database.
