Survey Analysis Software

Analysis tool for a public survey

The The Survey Management and Evaluation Database provides a place to store, review and analyze information gathered from written surveys. Data can be entered manually or imported from most data formats including Excel and CSV files as well as other Access databases.

Survey Analysis Tool

The Original System was an Excel spreadsheet through which the client was importing and analyzing information from a public survey he had performed regarding consumer satisfaction in regards to water quality and treatment. The client wanted to be able to look at the data in various ways. For example, “Of the group who answered question 1 as A and question 2 as A, how many answered question 3 as B.” Such a analysis can be performed in Excel, but it’s an extremely time consuming and tedious task.

The new system: The client contacted me for assistance in creating macros for Excel. What we ended up doing was creating a system in Access that created queries on-the-fly. This allowed the client to examine various scenarios by simply selecting the desired criteria from a system of drop-down boxes. As this was a simple database to create and use, what had started off as an overwhelming, two week project was accomplished in a single day.
