Five Reasons Your Website isn’t Bringing in New Customers and What You Can Do About It.

The are two actions you must take to increase your level of online sales. First, of course, you must attract potential customers to your website, which you can accomplish through your advertising, SEO and public relations efforts. Once potential clients have landed on your site, they must be qualified, convinced of your worthiness and persuaded to either close the deal online or to take the next step by contacting your office directly.

Here are Five Reasons your website may not be performing up to your expectations

1.Lack of a Clear, Compelling, Authoritative Website. Your potential customer’s first impression of you will be based on the quality and effectiveness of your website. Does your website…

  • Clearly state your qualifications, capabilities and experience
  • Convince your potential clients of your ability to deliver your product or service
  • Qualify your customers as far as is practical
  • Address the sales objections your potential customers may have

2.No clear, easy to follow call to action Your website must Provide multiple, easy, obvious ways to contact you. For example:

  • by filling out a form
  • sending an email, and
  • by easily finding your phone number

3.Ineffective or non-existent advertising program. If you are not advertising your business then you must start to do so. Popular options include:

Google AdWords,

Craigslist, Kijiji and Backpage (which are free,) and

Exactseek (very inexpensive, great resource for keyword testing)

4.Ineffective or non-existent Public Relations program. Online PR practices encompass most of the standard “old school” practices such as publishing articles through online magazines and sending press releases to online news sources. Other resources include:

5.Lack of an effective strategy for promoting and advertising your business, and an ongoing program of posting and testing your ads and landing pages so that you can determine what works for your business and what does not.
